Week 09: Transitioning into Rest
Welcome to Week 09 of the oneweek.dev Weekly Summary — a week of transition.
Building something new before the break.
Stepping fully into rest mode.
Letting experiments run quietly in the background.
And finding the balance between doing and being.
Some weeks are about momentum. This one was about pacing, knowing when to build, when to rest, and when to let things breathe.
This week's logs
Dec 21 — Designing a simple marketing rhythm
#kitofhappiness
Sat down to design a very simple marketing plan focused on Kit of Happiness. Not about building a huge funnel, but something that removes friction: a small script that tells me what to make each week. For the Christmas break, studied ideas for the first video set: how to introduce the Kit of Happiness world, brand language, and backstory. The core idea is to separate thinking from doing: once a week, brainstorm three short video ideas; during a full break, add one longer YouTube-style video. Testing the system first on Kit of Happiness to see if this lightweight rhythm makes showing up easier.

Dec 22 — Prototyping a checkable list app with retro style
#listpie
Started prototyping listpie.app with a retro aesthetic inspired by nano banana. After many iterations, decided on admin-only lists for quality control rather than AI generation. A tool for people who love checking off lists — tracking marathons, reading goals, personal challenges. The satisfaction of checking items off a well-designed list is real.

Dec 23 — Building an admin panel with AI assistance
#listpie
Created a small admin panel to draft and publish lists, integrating Google AI for initial drafts and preview images. Still requires some post-editing for links, but saves tremendous time. Added analytics and search console to track organic growth signals over time. Low effort, high potential for organic discovery.

Dec 24 — Finding the right workflow for maintaining lists
#listpie
Last working day before Christmas break. Low creative energy, but continued adding lists to experiment with layouts and establish a sustainable workflow. Added an AI helper for modifications, making the editing process smoother. The goal: make adding new lists feel natural, not heavy.
Dec 25 — First day of Christmas break
A real rest day. Went for Christmas visits, took it easy, and stepped away from work and projects. The morning started slow—no rush, no deadlines, no code to write. Just coffee, quiet moments, and being present with family. Made a conscious effort to keep the phone away, to not check emails, to let the mind reset.

Dec 26 — Binge watching Stranger Things
Second day of the break continues with binge watching new Stranger Things episodes, waiting for the finale on January 1st. Reflecting on how content is stretched and released strategically to maximize engagement, but still nice to have something to look forward to.
Dec 27 — Preparing for focused project days
Doctor appointment took nearly the whole day. Evening spent watching How to Get Away with Murder and playing around with lists. Tomorrow would be the first day with full focus on projects, still keeping it with vacation spirit since this week I have vacation at work too. A nice balance: time to work on things I care about, without the pressure of work deadlines.
A week of transition
This week felt like a natural pause in the rhythm.
Listpie took shape quickly — a new project that emerged from the idea garden, built with intention and a clear workflow. It's not meant to be a full sprint, but rather something to nurture gradually, adding lists when inspiration strikes.
Then the break began, and the shift was immediate. Real rest days, family time, binge watching, letting the mind unwind. The kind of reset that makes everything else possible.
Some weeks are about building.
This one was about balance: knowing when to push forward and when to step back.
Another week of transitions, rest, and the quiet work that happens in between.
See you next Sunday for Week 10. ✨
